Bruins win vs Lakefield

The Uxbridge Bruins extended their recent winning streak to four games after a 4-2 victory in Lakefield over the Chiefs on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

First period goals from Anthony Lamanna and Jake Rigillo gave Uxbridge a 2-0 advantage which they were able to hold through an action-packed second period. Special teams were the story of the third period. After Travis Winder scored to push Uxbridge to a 3-0 lead, Declan Meek added a powerplay goal. The Chiefs would get on the scoreboard with a shorthanded goal and a powerplay tally late in the game, but Kyle Groff kept them at bay for his 11th win of the 2022-23 PJHL season.

The Bruins are back in action at the Bear Den on Friday, Jan. 27, when we host the North Kawartha Knights at 7:45 p.m. On Saturday night, the Bruins hit the road to Little Britain for a 7:30 p.m. match-up against the Merchants.
