In loving memory of Bob Pollard

It is with tremendous sadness that the Bruins organization mourns the loss of our beloved founder, Bob Pollard. Mr. Pollard passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, May 1.

The man behind the push to return junior hockey to Uxbridge in 1976 with the founding of the Bruins, Mr. Pollard made a remarkable impact on the game of hockey in our community over the course of his lifetime.
Founding Uxbridge Minor Hockey in 1954 and leading the Uxbridge Chicks to the 1962 OHA Junior ‘D’ championship, he and his late wife Dorothy were the leaders in founding the Bruins in 1976 as the Uxbridge Dominion Auto Junior ‘C’ team aka the Uxbridge Dominions. He would serve as the founding coach of the team, remaining with the team in a variety of roles over the next several years as well as leading numerous Uxbridge teams to minor hockey championships.

A beloved figure to many in his hometown, Mr. Pollard leaves behind an inspiring legacy of community pride and commitment to making Uxbridge a better place for everyone. He truly lived a life worth celebrating, and he will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, coach.

A celebration of Bob Pollard’s remarkable life will be held at a later date. The Uxbridge Bruins will announce further details when they are available.
